Summary
Duties:
The Imaging Librarian responsibilities include tasks associated with the management of soft and hard copy medical imaging files maintained in the radiology department. Duties include review, manipulation and retrieval of records from the PACS digital repository and Storage Area Network (long term archive). The Imaging Librarian will coordinate the distribution of images upon request using CD's or other electronic media following the HIPPA laws pertaining to patient confidentiality. They will handle the charging of attorney offices for copies of images and depositing those funds into the radiology account. They will digitize hard copy images to be archived on PACS. In addition, the Imaging Librarian is expected to assist the department with the throughput of patients by using the patient tracking software. They will also be responsible for answering the phone and connecting outside parties to the correct person using excellent communication skills to promote customer satisfaction. Maintains open communication and is available to component organizations and practitioner sites for consultation.
Requirements:
High School Diploma preferred. 1-2 years preferred experience with Microsoft Office Suite Software.
