Summary
The Oncology Information Systems Manager will be directly responsible for the oversight of the Analysts in direct support of the Oncology Service Line. This is a working manager and will be the technical lead for all technology integrations within the oncology service line; meeting weekly with the Oncology division. * Responsible for assisting with Oncology IT strategy development and deployment, analyzing workflow processes, managing and tracking detailed action steps needed to complete strategic Oncology IT initiatives. * This position will directly oversee IT Oncology Project Management, IT oncology staff and provide coaching and mentoring that ensures all initiatives are managed well. * Responsible for development, installation, operation and ongoing support of specific computer software applications that directly support the Oncology operation of St. Joseph’s/Candler (SJ/C). * The Manager will communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, to internal stakeholders involved in continuous improvement processes that affect the IS Oncology continuum of care and other applications as assigned in addition to managing initiatives that ensure successful regulatory certifications and quality metrics are obtained within the Oncology Service Line. * Works closely with the Director of Information Services to establish work priorities and makes assignments as appropriate to meet the requirements of SJ/C. * Identifies, documents, and resolves or reports problems to software vendors as appropriate for resolution. * Customizes systems and recommends changes to systems and/or work flow processes as appropriate and consistent with user input and requirements. * Focus is proactive to anticipate and meet user needs while adhering to the SJ/C Strategic Information Systems Plan. Recognizes situations that could result in loss of system efficiency or connectivity and takes initiative to prevent system issues from occurring. * Provides expertise and guidance in area of research, evaluation, and selection of new computer software as required. * Directly responsible for operating within the annual IS FTE, operating and capital budgets.
Requirements: Masters Degree, Preferred 3-5 Years managing Application, Integration and/or Programming support teams, Required Experience with SQL, HL7, SNA, TCP/IP, FTP, etc. is an asset |
