Sterile Services Technician

Summary

 
Duties: 
 
The Sterile Processing Tech, under the indirect supervision of the Nurse Manager and Lead Tech, provides the duties of Sterile Processing. These duties include, but are not limited to, the decontamination of instruments, trays, instrument containers, and case carts; the assembly of instruments and trays; the process of sterilizing instruments and items for use by ancillary departments; the preparation of case carts for scheduled and emergency cases.
 
Requirements:
 
Graduate of a Surgical Technology Program, or a formal Sterile Processing Program. Graduate of ST/SPD Program, with at least 1 year experience in OR or SPD preferred. Certification in Sterile Processing required.  May be hired as certification eligible, but certification must be achieved within 12 months of employment.
