Summary
Duties:
The Medical Sonographer performs routine diagnostic and vascular sonographic testing utilizing Doppler and color Doppler on
Organs or peripheral vascular structures. The sonographer will be responsible for assisting with interventional procedures,
Biopsies or drainages while using sterile technique under the direct supervision of the physician. US procedures are performed frequently without immediate supervision but in accordance to standards approved by the Medical Director. At SJH the sonographer may be required to assist with mammography procedures. Additionally, a sonographer may be required to rotate through one of the SJC outpatient centers as a part of their job duties and responsibilities. Maintains open communication and is available to component organizations and practioner sites for consultation.
Requirements:
Associates or Bachelors of Science is required. Graduate of an ACR accredited Sonography program, RDMS in at least 2 specialties required, RDMS and RVT preferred. 1 year general Ultrasound required, Vascular preferred. National Certification is required.
