Under the direction of the licensed staff member, the Patient Care Technician gives routine, non-licensed, technical bedside care as a member of the Nursing Team. The PCT maintains open communication and is available to component organizations and practitioner sites for consultation.

Core Job Functions
- Assists in the coordination and implementation of individualized care for patients and families. Direct aspects of patient care to qualified unlicensed assistive personnel commensurate with abilities and level of preparation and consistent with legal and regulatory framework.
- Patients are identified per guidelines and patient care interventions are provided under the direction of the RN/LPN. Accurately obtains and documents patient assessments according to hospital/ department guidelines.
- Under the direction of the RN transports patients to other patient care areas
- Assists in room set up. Helps move/transport patients. Assists with patient prepping.
