Position Summary

Utilizing the Nursing Process of assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating, the StaffRegistered Nurse is responsible for delivery of patient care; managing assigned personnel, andpromoting collaboration among the multi-disciplinary health care team. The RN maintains open communication and is available to component organizations and practitioner sites for consultation. Available for on call shifts as scheduled per health system, surgical services and unit policies including but not limited to nights, weekends and holidays.

1-2 Years Med-Surg or higher level of acute care hospital nursing - Required

1-2 Years PACU or Critical Care - Preferred

1-2 Years PACU or Critical Care - Preferred will have to complete the online Critical Care program within 6 months of hire

Core Job Functions
- Provide excellent patient care. Keeps family informed. Rounds on team and assists as needed.
- Takes initiative to review unit/departmental customer or co-worker satisfaction scores as posted in unit. Promotes measures to improve customer/co-worker satisfaction scores. Consistently demonstrates behaviors that promote excellent patient experiences.
- Keeps Educators and Managers informed about mission-critical issues. Helps to share organizational strategic plan to subordinates with current major organizational initiatives and how specific unit/department contributes. Participates in unit, department, organizational committee work, shares activities and outcomes with other staff and manager.
- Demonstrates proficiency in administration of oncology and non-oncology treatment. Provides teaching and guidance to patients, caregivers and staff. Documents and communicates treatment plan as prescribed. Demonstrates proficiency in knowledge and skills necessary for administration of IV medications. Ensures interventions are consistent with current nursing practice and standards. Promotes a safe and therapeutic environment for patients.
- Assures clinical information is shared in a timely manner with the referring and additional managing physicians as well as appropriate clinical support staff for ongoing patient care and decision making.
- Documents and scans all refill requests, new prescriptions, phone calls, laboratory and diagnostic results, medical equipment/supply orders, referrals, notifications, problems, appointments, contact information, and medical records to the EMR
- Competes mandatory educational requirements in a timely manner. Assists Professional Development Coordinator/Educators in planning and presenting unit-based in-services.
