Technologist Assistant 7310.1535

Duties:

The basic function of a Respiratory Technician Assistant is to assist in the equipment and supply issues of the Respiratory Therapy Department. Under the direction of the Manager, or Team Leader. The Respiratory Technician Assistant is responsible for setting up and cleaning various types of Respiratory Care Equipment and performing routine Oxygen rounds. May also be responsible for the administration of routine general floor related Respiratory Care procedure if the Respiratory Therapy Assistant is currently enrolled and in good standing in an accredited Respiratory Therapy program. Staff may receive, secure and transport medications as necessary.

Requirements:

A High School Diploma is required. This position is available only if currently enrolled, and in good standing, in an accredited Respiratory Therapy program. Upon completion of the course of study, co-worker must voluntarily resign or, may apply for placement as a RCP when such positions become available.  2-3 years of respiratory experience is preferred. Professional certification is preferred. Professional licensure with state of practice is preferred.
