Summary
Duties:The Medical Sonogrpher performs routine diagnostic sonographic and doppler testing on patients organ or peripheral vascular structures. the procedures are performed frequently without immediate supervision, but in accordance to standards approved by the Medical Director. Will also assist in interventional sonographic guided procedures as required. At St. Joseph's Hospital, the sonographer may be required to assist with mammography patient procedures. Additionally, sonographer may be required to participate in a working rotation through one of SJC outpatient imaging centers as part of their job duties and responsiblities. Maintains open communications and is available to component organizations and practitiiner sites for consultation.
Requirements:
Formal training course in Abdominal, OB and Peripheral Vascular Sonography. Prefer two years sonographic experience in abdominal, OB and peripheral vascular imaging. Dual modallity registration preferred. Registration in Radiologic technology with training (or 2 years experience) in Ultrasound. Registration by ARDMS, or eligible, required in Adominal and OB areas. additional certification
in Peripheral Vascular Imaging preferred. Current BCLS Certification.
