Summary

Duties

The Scrub Technician, under the direct supervision of the Sterile Processing Manager, Supervisor and Lead Tech(s), provides the duties of scrubbing for surgical cases and assisting the RN. These duties also include, but are not limited to, the decontamination of instruments, assembly of trays; the process of sterilizing instruments and items for use by ancillary departments; the preparation of case carts for scheduled and emergency cases; cleaning of the department. Also responsible for the training of Tech(s) and Assistants.

Requirements:

• Certificate à Preferred.
• Graduate of a Surgical Technician Program
• Competency as evident in pursuing and maintaining national certification within subspecialty area
• 1 years of Surgical Technician experience à Preferred.
• National Certification à Preferred.
