Summary
Position Summary
- This is a Night Shift position
- Accountable for the operation (quality and quantity) of the shift supervised.
- Organizes the department workload daily through the assignment of duties to technologists and technicians in such a manner as to achieve daily goals.
- Knowledgeable of laboratory test procedures with defined automated procedures, calculations and/or indicators that are age dependent.
- Supervises and performs testing procedures on adults, children, adolescents, neonate and geriatric patients. Responsible for training personnel.
- Must stay abreast of advancements in his/her field.
- Responsible for recognizing and implementing additional services to his/her department through collaboration with the Director, as trends in technology, instrumentation and physician ordering patterns suggest the need.
- Must set goals and objectives for the shift.
- Evaluates supervised personnel.
- Assumes responsibility of Director and Operations Manager in their absence.
Requirements:
- Bachelors – Required
- 3-5 Years – Required
- Medical Laboratory Technician or Medical Technologist License - Required
- Currently registered or registry eligible by the Board of Registry of the American Society of Clinical Pathologists or equivalent.
