Maintains the standards that relate to patient care and technical services performed during the pre-procedural and procedural
periods fro diagnostic and therapeutic vascular and/or cardiac procedures in invasive procedure labs by serving in the roles of
monitoring, circulating and scrubbing procedures. The focus of the these standards is to assure optimal examinations,
interventions and post care while maintaining the highest level of patient safety and comfort possible.

Completion/30-day pending graduation of Certified Cardiovascular Program or
Completion/30-day pending graduation of Certified Radiological Program - Required

Core Job Functions
- Demonstrates knowledge and skill to provide care appropriate to any age-related needs of the patient being
served. Demonstrates principles of growth and development appropriate to the patient populations served.
Coordinates patient care needs with team members and other appropriate departments. - Maintains aseptic/sterile technique during invasive procedures per policy. Anticipates needs and provides
procedural supplies and/or equipment to the physician. Proficient in arterial and venous access
management. - Accurately enters procedural documentation and patient charges per department guidelines. Major
arrhythmias and hemodynamic events are identified and communicated to ensure proper action for patient
safety. Maintains radiopharmaceutical logs and computer entries for period of time required by the DNR. - Routine cleaning and maintenance of equipment is performed in accordance with manufacturer
recommendation and department policy. Work orders involving equipment are entered promptly into the
system. Staff education regarding care and operation of equipment is conducted annually and as needed. - Knowledgeable of Joint Commission, OSHA and CMA regulatory guidelines concerning the care of the
invasive cardiac patient. Participates in quality improvement processes surrounding Surgical Care
Improvement Project, AMI Core Measures, Door to Balloon time and American College of Radiology
Standards to achieve highest level of performance. Assures team is included in patient safety activities such
as Time Out, Read Back/Verify, Implant verification and procedural sponge and instrument counts.
