Summary

  • Position Summary
    • The Revenue Cycle Associate is responsible for providing support in various areas of the Revenue Cycle. Support will include but is not limited to pre-registering of patients, registering of patients, scheduling patients, insurance follow up, training and assisting with quality reviews. This position will require two months of training. Training will include classroom training, training in various locations and rounding within the Revenue Cycle. Co-Workers in this position must be highly motivated with a desire to learn, must be detail oriented, possess great communication skills and provide excellent customer service. Flexibility is a must.

    • High School Diploma - Preferred
  • Experience
    • 1 Year Medical Insurance Knowledge - Preferred
    • 1 Year Customer Service Experience - Preferred

  • Core Job Functions
    • Creates and maintains welcoming environment for patient, families, and staff. Assumes responsibility for patient satisfaction related to instructions, wait times, anticipation of needs, and registration process. Promptly answers telephones, voice mails, and emails.
    • Assists front desk staff in patient registration utilizing two computer systems (Meditech and Mediserve). Enters patient authorization information into two systems to allow accurate tracking of visits/dollar amount and for processing of claims   
    • Confirms co-payment, deductible or deposit amounts from cards/software. Informs the patient, requests payment, process payment and produces receipt. Informs the patient of payment options, financial counseling, and Financial Assistance.
    • Acts upon computer reminders promptly and appropriately. Escalates claims and follows up with payer provider representatives for account resolution. Uses the most effective follow up method needed. Documents all action taken.
    • Ensures accurate scheduling, rescheduling, cancellations and verification of the patients appointment with the correct MD, modality, special equipment and studies. Repeats appointment date, time and location prior to ending call. Schedules interpreters for patients as needed.
