Summary

  • Position Summary
    • The Physician Recruiter supports the growth of the health system by assisting the Vice President of Medical Group Management with the recruitment and placement of physicians in a variety of medical specialties. Under the direction of the V.P. of MGM, assists in planning, implementing and evaluating the health systems physician recruitment and retention strategies. Prioritizes physician searches, communicates effectively with SJC management, physicians, external organizations, and other staff, implements a variety of strategies for candidate sourcing, thoroughly screening and vetting of applicants, and facilitates the on boarding process. Coordinates and manages the utilization of national and regional physician recruiting firms/agencies. Manages and coordinates the utilization of Locum Tenens physicians on an as needed basis. Monitors and tracks expenditures within the physician recruitment budget. Maintains a database of Southeastern residencies and physician training programs, and develops a strong working relationship within these programs.

    • 1-2 Years - Required
    • Previous healthcare, sales, marketing or recruiting background is preferred with specific knowledge of the medical/physician community. Must have excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to engage at all levels of the organization and work with minimal supervision and set priorities and accomplish goals. Must have the ability to multi-task, planning and prioritizing a large volume of detail-oriented work in accordance with changing deadlines.

  • Core Job Functions
    • Continually searches new resources for candidates and makes contacts as appropriate. Develops and maintains working knowledge of the health system and regional communities to assist with candidate inquiries.  Maintains Chamber of Commerce/Health System informational packets and distributes all collateral materials for physician recruitment.
    • Assists with the facilitation of the site visit for the candidate and spouse/significant other. Including, but not limited to, making travel arrangements, lodging, meals, welcome gift, developing a itinerary and providing transportation as needed. Assists with candidate reimbursement for incidental expenses incurred by the candidate or spouse.
    • Assists with the documentation needed for the completion of the credentialing process, as needed. Assists with references, background check, primary source license verification.  Assists the physician with relocation as needed.
    • Maintains a current open list for position openings, and provides monthly updates or as needed by the Vice President. Maintains weekly status lists of all candidates on active searches.
    • Provides input into the physician recruitment budget. Managers costs effectively, audits and submits expenses for approval and payment.
