Position Summary

The Unit Clerk transcribes and posts Physicians orders; maintains Medication Administration Records; transcribes appropriate information on patient's graphic record; assists in maintaining PAR levels of supplies for the Nursing Unit; maintains an organized work environment; facilitates communication between staff, patients, families and/or visitors. Staff may receive, secure and transport medications as necessary.

Core Job Functions
- Call lights and phones are answered in an efficient and professional manner and messages are communicated to the appropriate person. Work area is kept organized and clean.
- Receives incoming telephone calls, greets visitors and refers to proper appropriate personnel. Assists in orientation of new co-workers.
- Prepare memos, procedures, reports and other correspondence as needed. Answer telephones, relay messages, assist callers or transfer callers as needed. Record minutes and transcribes documentation accurately.
