Summary

  • Position Summary
    • Under general direction by the Director of Technology, the Sr. IT Infrastructure Project manager will manage and provide guidance to the personnel responsible for the management of a portfolio of projects. Leads and manages multiple complex or enterprise-wide projects using advanced concepts and tools. Accomplishes project objectives by planning and evaluating project activities. Beyond the typical project management skills of being able to expertly plan, manage, communicate, and deliver project scope, quality and budget, a successful Sr, IT Infrastructure Project Manager must be able to:- Effectively lead cross functional teams of data center, server, storage, networking, telecommunications, IT, and software delivery professionals to successfully deliver our most important projects.- Use lean, waterfall, and agile based project management techniques to establish iterative delivery plans of value-centric milestones.- Create environments for high collaboration, transparency, and efficient execution within teams of technically dispersed professionals.- Use traditional project management skills to relentlessly manage delivery risk and clear obstacles for timely execution.- Masterfully plan and execute change communication for those impacted by the project.- Intuitively and fearlessly escalate obstacles to the success of the project team.- Collaborate with other project managers and team leads to create the best outcome from constraints or conflict.- Provide execution plans to the Program Director and Project Stakeholders for successful delivery.
  • Education
    • Bachelor's of Computer Science - Required
  • Experience
    • 5-7 Years Infrastructure hardware & solutions, with application systems - Required
    • Excellent knowledge about all aspects of information technology specifically with complex infrastructure environments.
       
    • PMP-ACP certifications or a minimum of 2 years managing projects utilizing project management tools and methodologies.-
    • A minimum of 5 years of hands-on IT project management experience that required the coordination and management of resources across multiple cross-functional teams
    • Experience in the successful delivery of a minimum of three of the following Enterprise level IT Infrastructure, Security and networking projects.
    • Data center migrations
    • Enterprise infrastructure software deployments
    • Exceptional interpersonal skills, including teamwork, facilitation, and negotiation
    • Strong leadership skills
    • Excellent analytical, technical, planning and organizational skills
    • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • License & Certification
    • PMP, ITIL v.3 or equivalent.
  • Core Job Functions
    • Serves as a project manager on all assigned projects to ensure all projects are completed on schedule and within budget. Oversees project plans and ensures all components are properly documents.
    • Demonstrates ability to be self directed and a self-starter. Also demonstrates the ability to relate to various locations and cultures.
    • Defines project scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders. Plans & schedules project timelines, milestones, defines project success criteria and disseminates to all involved parties throughout life-cycle of project. Proactively manages project scope, changes, and identifies potential crises and builds contingency response plans. Develops and delivers progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations. Determines frequency and content of status reports from project team members, analyzes results, and troubleshoots problem areas. Conducts project post mortems and creates recommendations report identifying successful and unsuccessful elements with summary of best practices and needed tools for future project execution and management.
    • Work with project team, management and vendors to establish project plan and timeline, facilitate communication between key parties, track and measure success of projects to ensure overall project goals are met and report findings to management.
    • Prepares projects costs, budgets, estimates labor resources, equipment, and supplies per project. Drafts and submits budget proposals and recommends budgetary changes during project activities. Manages the capital budget expenditures over the course of the year.
