Summary

  • Position Summary
    • Under the general direction of the Director of Physician Revenue Cycle, plans, develops and directs the scheduling department for the MGM practices. Demonstrates leadership and facilitates the development of work flows, customer service standards, reporting of data and oversees employees. Works closely with Administration, Practice Managers, Providers, CRO, and IS to ensure the scheduling process is offered in an effective and efficient manner.
  • Education
    • Bachelor's Degree - Required
    • Master's in Business, Healthcare Administration, or relative field - Preferred
  • Experience
    • 3-5 Years in Customer Service / Scheduling - Preferred
    • 3-5 Years in Healthcare Operations or Revenue Cycle - Preferred
  • License & Certification
    • None Required
  • Core Job Functions
    • Audits scheduling and reporting to ensure accurate performance. Ensures requests for standard changes are completed in a timely manner including provider reschedules and No Show reports for practices. Collaborates with administration with regard to department growth, call volumes and workflow changes needed to optimize department performance to ensure excellence in quality and patient care.
    • Implements programs and services to improve patient satisfaction. Works with physicians to achieve growth of practice. Addresses all patient concerns and issues.
    • Reviews and monitor financial and operational metrics to ensure that goals and objectives are achieved. Implements corrective actions when metrics are below targets.
    • Develops strong, collaborative relationships with MGM practice managers to ensure scheduling needs are met. Participates with staff in scheduling appointments when under or short-staffed in the department. Works directly with administration, practice managers, IS and department staff to implement policies/controls to ensure highest levels of customer service and scheduling accuracy.
    • Ensures reports are consistent with MGM requirements. Ensures data reported is current and accurate. Shares data monthly with scheduling staff and administration to evaluate performance and encourage teamwork.
    • Hires, trains, counsels, disciplines and terminates staff. Completes change request/posting requests as needed. Responsible for approving staff payroll each pay period.
    • Responsible for updating co-worker files such as performance evaluations, clinical competencies, job descriptions, organizational chart, net learning module and site orientations. Ensure system and HR policies and procedures are adhered to in all assigned practices.
