Summary

  • Position Summary
    • Under the direction of the Director of cardiovascular Services and the COO, this position provides combined oversight of healthcare business and healthcare quality. Key activities of the role are the planning development and directing of the financial/business activities of Cardiovascular Services. Analysis and evaluation of capital and operating budgets, cost containment projects/activities and inventory control are communicated to the Cardiovascular Services leadership team.This position works closely with Finance, Purchasing, the Clinical Initiatives director and other hospital departments.

  • Core Job Functions
    • Monthly department reports are accurate and timely. Files concerning capital purchases, equipment maintenance contracts and leases are maintained per hospital policy. Projects that enhance revenue or reduce expenses are developed collaboratively with the department managers and directors
    • Department is represented at all budgetary meeting. All expenses are reviewed annually for budgetary accuracy and changes to operations are accounted for in budgetary planning. In collaboration with managers and director, capital list is developed and maintained.
    • Monthly department performance reports are managed according to finance policy. Detailed explanations for variances are provided and tracked for budgetary reference. Variance reports are submitted on time.
    • Data is submitted accurately and on time for the Action registry-GWTG. Registry reports are reviewed and reported at the D2B meetings.
    • Assists managers in researching budgetary variances in supplies and labor. Corrective action plans are developed collaboratively with managers for unfavorable variances. Bi-annual inventory adjustments are researched and corrective action plan developed for unfavorable variance.
